Location: London, UK
Project: District Heating Network
Pipe diameter: 300mm
Pipe length: 1560m
ENGIE is a leading energy and services company focused on three key activities: production and supply of energy, facilities management and regeneration. With 17,000 employees, they combine these capabilities for the benefit of individuals, businesses and communities throughout the UK & Ireland.
Ice Pigging was used to clean 1560m of 300mm diameter district cooling
pipework for Engie in Stratford, London. The pipework had been recently installed
as an extension to the Angel Lane District Cooling Network.
Newly installed district heating pipework needed to undergo a pre-commissioning clean to remove swarf and fabrication debris before becoming operational. A conventional flush would take up to 2 weeks to complete and would have high flow and pumping costs.
