The United Kingdom Society for Trenchless Technology (UKSTT) has announced the winners of its annual awards at its Dinner and Awards Ceremony, held at the Met Hotel in Leeds.
The event opened with a speech from UKSTT Chairperson, Matthew Izzard, who spoke about the progress of the society and its place in the industry.
Affinity Water, SUEZ and Mace won the Innovative Application of Technology Award for Affinity Water’s 18month trunk mains cleaning program that used Ice Pigging to clean more than 900km of pipes.
Ice Pigging is a highly effective and exceptionally low-risk method of removing sediment, biofilm and other objects from pressurised water pipes. Ice Pigging on water mains has widely been adopted as the most cost-effective method of pipe cleaning in many countries around the world.
